VOYAGER EDGE 6.1 BRINGS KNOWLEDGE SHARING WITHIN MULTI-DEVICE AD-HOC COMMUNITIES
Voyager Edge 6.1 Brings Knowledge Sharing within Multi-Device Ad-Hoc Communities
Agent technology enables peer-to-peer/group/enterprise messaging between JMS and MSMQ - Recursion Software announced the release of Voyager Edge 6.1, a unified, decentralized, intelligent agent framework that provides powerful edge-to-enterprise integration for next-generation Mobile 2.0 applications. New to this release is the addition of a dynamic "yellow pages" discovery service and the integration of Java Message Service (JMS) with Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ)-compliant applications.
Recursion Software, Inc., an innovative provider of intelligent middleware and distributed computing solutions, announced today the release of Voyager Edge 6.1, a unified, decentralized, intelligent agent framework that provides powerful edge-to-enterprise integration for next-generation Mobile 2.0 applications. New to this release is the addition of a dynamic "yellow pages” discovery service and the integration of Java Message Service (JMS) with Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ)-compliant applications. Clients running Voyager Edge can now communicate with other devices regardless of which software stack or virtual machine they employ.
Voyager Edge’s JMS space framework takes social networking to the next level by creating dynamic adhoc device communities with guaranteed peer-to-peer, peer-to-group and peer-to-enterprise messaging. Applications can transcend the traditional client-server model so that each device is intelligent, transactional and communicates peer-to-peer and peer-to-group without the need for centralized servers. Voyager Edge’s reliable messaging capabilities eliminate a single point of failure, which is a significant weakness of client-server frameworks.
“Mobile 2.0 is more than just the mobile web. Voyager Edge goes beyond today’s popularweb-based applications by eliminating two major limitations– language and server dependence,” said Bob DeAnna, chief technology officer for Recursion Software. “Voyager Edge liberates software from any communication or device constraints to introduce coordinated knowledge sharing, problem solving and transactions that span dynamically assembled device communities. It will enable a whole new world of micro commerce through location-based, extreme personalization, intelligence, and cognitive analysis,” The inclusion of dynamic registration to and discovery from a decentralized, federated "yellow pages”, or agent service description, in addition to the long-supported white pages integration enables location-based intelligence and content delivery. Based on the user’s mood, location, time, day, etc., a device can deduce the user’s needs and proactively deliver information without requiring the user to perform a search. These unique capabilities allow telephone carrier subscription networks, dynamic gaming providers, malls, stadiums, parks, transportation networks, or any other entity that needs to push and receive information and communicate with all Wi-Fi enabled devices that have subscribed to them.
Voyager Edge completely blurs the lines between J2EE/SE/ME, .NET and CORBA, creating a single, unified and interchangeable platform for embedded and mobile applications. This is in part accomplished by providing the same platform on both enterprise and embedded Java Virtual Machines and the .Net CLR and automatically exposing intelligent mobile agents as Document Literal Web Services. In addition to SOAP support, Voyager Edge also supports CORBA (IIOP), J2EE (RMI-over-IIOP) and XML-RPC industry standards to implement the remote communications and mobile agent capability.
